sorry everyone... been out of town for a few days and for some reason i don't get automatic forwarding of subscribed threads to my email. i'll have to check that out and get on here more often.

yes, i have many made and more metal if i run out. i'm just making the bhaf heat shields, no intakes. shoot me a pm if you're interested on the heat shields, they're boxed and ready to go! thanks to all of you who have one already, i appreciate the business and complements. btw money from the heat shields is helping pay (a modest sum of the total price) for my goerends tranny that gets installed by dave himself, in IA, on august 1st... can't wait! -

It's definitely small scale. I buy a sheet of 5x12 foot aluminum at a time (makes 24 heat shields) and I really don't make much money after my time and materials. I cut the metal at my workshop, bend the metal at a friends and then adhere the split loom and ship from home, my basement. Like I said, A MODEST AMOUNT from what I've made from the heat shields, less than a grand, is going to the tranny, but every little bit helps. I'm a craftsman by trade so I make sure I make them right and have a few duds laying around cause I don't want crap sent out to you all who pay with you're hard earned money. I just wish I'd sell more of them... really cannot go lower than $60 though or I'm almost losing $.

With a three year old, daycare, and a 12 year marriage, there's no way to squeeze any play money from the budget, so I do this on the side for my diesel slush fund. I'm also setting up a biodiesel processor/reactor and should be up and running within two months.... that ought to save me a couple hundred in fuel a month... adding a little to the slush fund. I bought my truck in June of 06 and love it to death and won't ever own a gasser again but I had no idea I'd take better care of this than anything I've ever owned... does cost more $ to keep a diesel going but hopefully the major repairs/replacement of parts at 150K will slow down and give me another 150K before I have to fork out as much $ as I have in the last few months. -
