I need a new set of speakers for the front doors. My front left side quit working. I know I have the Infinity system that has amps on the front door speakers. Any suggestions on what I should go with? I don't really want to go all aftermarket with an external amp and all. Just something similar to stock that is a bolt in.

I just saw a write-up about this not to long ago. A guy bought aftermarket speakers and was trying to wire them up to the stock amps/system. One thing to remeber, (i think this is right) the factory speakers are 4ohm and aftermarket stuff is usually 8ohm. It makes a little difference in sound quality when you switch, probably won't notice it though.
It's been a long time since I've messed with this stuff, but I think I'm on the right track. As far as suggestions for which/what kind of speaker, I can't comment there, like I said, it's been awile since I've messed with sound systems. Ahh, found it. Maybe this will help some on wiring. Factory Infinity CD player, new speakers, completely stumped on wiring.... - Dodge Diesel - Diesel Truck Resource Forums FWIW, my favorite choices for speakers were usually JVC, ALPINE or ROCKFORD FOSGATE. I'm not sure if they even call it Rockford Fosgate anymore, maybe just Fosgate, IDK, I'm gettin old .

Got it!. There are two wires coming from the amp that go to the speaker's signal (+) and return (-). All I have to do is attach them to the new speakers, and viola!

You can just transfer the stock amps to the new front speakers, right? I have an aftermarket head unit, I can't spare the cash for a new one, amp, and speakers. What would be the best combination to get my sound back? New speakers and the stock amps, New speakers and head unit, or new speakers and an amp, or some other combo?

I only have six wires coming into my amp from the door. Orange, brown, black, yellow, green, and blue. They don't match what my service manual shows. What's up with that?
