Default 2 stroke oil

Hey I'm new here. But I have a question? I drive an 2000 qc sb but a cowoker drives an 08 6.7 qc. my question is from him. Can you run 2 stroke oil in your tank so that it doesn't gel up or does it help with the injectors? Any benefit at all? Or is this just a stupid question. I know i can use it in my truck w/ the vp44.

It's to help lubricate the injectors and the CP3.

I run an 1.5oz per gal. But he might want to run a 1/2oz per gal on account of the DPF.

Ashless TCW-3 From Wal Mart is what we use this side of the pond. Not sure what they have in Europe, but as long as it's ashless 2-stroke oil. That's the most important part. If it's not ashless it can plug things up with the extra soot it will create.

Ah, ok. I guess I can get TCW-3 ashless 2-stroke oils here.
I really would like to give it a try. Thanks for the good input. I'm a little worried about it because of our strict emission tests over here.

You will pass emissions tests with it, it's undetectable!!

I read a bunch about guys testing it in Europe with VW TDI's and Mercedes Benz CDI's, and they pass all of their smog tests. In fact I think in some cases soot levels actually went down with 2-stroke oil. I'll have to dig up the link for you!

Start with a 1:200 ratio at first. (500mL/100L of fuel or 250ml/50L)

Its been my understanding that you do not use 2 cycle oil in any truck that had a DPF as it will cause problems with the DPF.

Ashless 2-stroke oil should NOT clog the DPF... It's ashless fuel-oil just like diesel. They use it in Europe in CDI's and TDI's...same technology, in fact our technology originated there first. They're always one step ahead of N.America due to their more stringent economy and emissions regulations. But if you jump in some of the European/Australian forums you'll see they're using it, too.
