Default Removing white streaks on moldings.

I've had several PM's recently, asking how to remove the white streaks on rubber or vinyl moldings/weatherstripping.

If in fact the white streaks are excess wax, from a recent detail, the easiest way to remove it is the apply some APC (Adams All Purpose Cleaner) to an MF (Micro Fiber) pad or cotton cloth. If you do not have APC, Simple Green is a good substitute.
Lightly rub the streak to remove it from the vinyl or rubber, wipe clean with a new towel and let it dry. Then hit the area with your choice of rubber or vinyl dressing product. VRT is my recommended Adams product, but you may have a favorite that you prefer to use..

NOTE: Do not spray the APC directly on the molding or you risk misting your painted surfaces. Spray it on the cloth/pad and apply it that way. APC will not harm the painted surface if removed, but don't take the chance of missing it and causing yourself more problems. -

I've heard that, but have never tried it.

The only thing I've found using Armor-All is the residue that is left. -

Sorry for Hi-Jacking your thread. I bet your product works really well. Best of luck to you.

BTW I never use Amor-all it dries out too fast and promotes cracking. -

No sweat. It's always good to discuss all possible solutions to a problem.
I love Adams products, but they are not the solution to all situations.

I appreciate everyone's opinions.... -
