I'm betting his TDI would smoke your truck. Smoke doesn't mean power, like fart cans don't add any power to the Honda boys cars. You must be a kid. I've seen 700 HP duramaxs that don't smoke , and even common rail Cummins that make that and don't smoke. Kids like you make a bad name for diesel guys. And obviously you're a kid because you want smoke, you're broke, and bought a 7.3 obs dually because they're so cheap. And smoke does hurt. It falls to the ground and sits on the soil and soaks in. Killing crops. A "country boy" should know that.

Default Budget power for my 7.3
New to the site. I've got a 97 7.3. Bought it with an edge Evo programmer. Recently installed a 4" diamond eye kit, wicked wheel 2, 1.0 ar housing, ebpv delete and a napa 6637. Was surprised how well the 7.3 responded. Was a dog before these upgrades, but now a completely different truck. I don't pull a super heavy trailer (yet) but very more enjoyable to daily drive.

you would be amazed at how it will run with some decent tunes, the edge is crap

My truck runs pretty good with the edge tunes, but that's all I know. Never driven a 7.3 obs with anything other. What would you suggest for tunes? Thanks for your input.

i used to have an edge then switched to tunes from tony wildman and it was a night and day difference. i would get a PHP hydra for the chip. that comes with PHP tunes or you can get tunes from other companies and load them on the chip.

Not looking to go crazy either, a side from mentioned upgrades is pretty much a stock truck sitting on 37's. Stock sticks too.
