If you are going to do this for fun, and $$$ is no issues, then enjoy it.
Otherwise, the cheapest and fastest way to get to 68 RFE transmission, sell your truck, and get a new on. Right now they are giving them away. The deals here in Raleigh is just unreal!! By the way, the 68RFE is one hell of an automatic transmission. And this is the first auto trany for me! - |

The A/T option is like $2000? Be a heck of a lot more, especially if you have to round up a PCM, harnesses, brackets/hardware, transfercase, drivelines, and other parts. Be a project and a half. -

I'm gonna have the Dodge dealer do it so i dont mess up the interior pieces and so it will actually get done right and not take forever if i was gonna do it myself. I'm gonna go price it tommoro and see then whether i still wanna do it or not -

The dealer is actually willing to do that?
Not knockin all dealers but that's kinda beyond their scope of work. Or beyond the work they a willing to do..... Especially on a 08 I also second the lotto ticket! - |

Yes, I am old! This is my first automatic transmission, due to the fact that I have an injery to my knee and some times when the pain is too bad, I will be in deep kimchee to push the clutch.
And I really do not think dealer is going to do this, unless you own the dealership. - |

yeah the i dont think the dealer will do this either and i dont think i would let the dealer do
this let them keep doing tire rotations and oil changes - |

Well I guess keep it as a handshaker it was gonna cost an arm and a leg to get that swap done so I said screw it i'll keep the manual. -

I'm just the opposite i am tired of shiftin. about everythin we have is a freakin manual except the tahoe..... Idk what i'm gonna do. Maybe buy a new truck and trade this one off and get some thing with an auto to cruise in........ -
