Just bought a 08 Mega with 80k miles 3 months ago. Was just about to install deletes and tuner and we found leaking head gasket while doing an oil change. Looks like dealer will be doing most of the work. I thought that while it was apart I might as well get the dealer to install ARP headstuds, is there anything else that I should do while the engine is apart??? I plan only using the truck to haul kids and the occasional trailer so I am not looking for huge amounts of power but want reliability and mileage, Thanks for the help!
how did you notice the h/g leaking. while changing the oil where was it coming from? also make sure they have the head checked for cracks and for flatness. and i wouldnt run the stock gasket. i would order a vulcan h/g from lazarsmith and have them install that.
Yes, changing the oil, 2 streaks of coolant down the front of the engine block coming from above the water pump. Thanks for the info, will check them out.
