Default 6.7L hop up?

Hey guys, I've been tossing about the idea of doing the initial upgrades to my 2012 Cummins since the day I bought it (EGR delete, DPF delete and tuner) The truck has a DPF back 4" MBRP and I realized what a waste of money that was as it doesn't to anything for sound, nor fuel economy and power. (why should it, its like 2' of piping) but it works with DPF delete pipes so it still has some use to it. I'm not too partial to intakes as most of them are open box and I take my truck through mud, snow and water. The truck has 5 yr warranty which I'm kicking myself for now, but at the same time I'd really like to have that extra Oomph that my buddies trucks have.

Before I get into the modding I've heard before hand that the stock G56 clutches don't hold up to more than stock and I've heard from magazines and co-workers to go with a dual disc right off the bat. I did some research and it looks like I'd be going with the SouthBend, question being that my truck has only 14,000Km on it so would I be fine for a bit or just get the clutch done with?

As for DPF/EGR deletes and programmers, whats hot and whats not? I was leaning towards H&S but oppinions are welcome, even if I should wait until warranty is up. I know the Cummins is built like a brick and if your modded diesels are doing great then thats good enough for me. Any precautions are welcome!

I'm here to learn, throw whatcha got my way please!

the clutch in your truck wont hardly stand stock power. when you put a tuner on, it will slip. dual disc is a good choice

Well, I just bought an '08 that had the H&S Mini Maxx and some sort of 5" to 4" dual exhaust under it without DPF and CAT(of course). Pickup had 60,000 on it and the clutch would slip under any kind of load.
I ordered the SB dual disk, ARP head studs, and H&S EGR delete.
I couldn't be happier. Pickup pulls like a freight train, H&S has a ton of settings for just about everything under the sun, and with most all deletes done I'm not worried about it coming apart any time soon.
I will say that the SB clutch is noisy, but I was warned about that by Tony when I ordered it.
I don't know how crazy I'd get with a new 2012 but I can say knowing whats there with a few mods I don't know that I could stand to drive it stock. It's like a whole different pickup...literally.

if i buy another new cummins i will have full deletes waiting b4 i buy the truck. i think leaving your truck stock for warranty is crazy. 90%of the time your taking it to the shop for emissions work. all your doing is taking life out of you motor. the warrrantys anymore are about a joke anyways. now about tuning and such. think about how far you want to go horse power is adictive. buy one time and not 3 tuners like me stupid. i would look into head studs. getting rid of the stock turbo was my best mod yet.

Sounds exactly like what I needed to hear! I work close to an NADP shop so I think I'll take 'er there so they can have at 'er. I doubt I have the cash right now to throw on another turbo, I'll have to make due with stock because I'm going to trades school for the next two months so I'm on EI right now, but it does leave me lots of tinker time.

Looks like my list goes as follows:
SB dual sisc
MBRP 4" + DPF delete pipe
NADP EGR delete
H&S MiniMaxx /w/ overhead mount
head studs

I was also thinking of keeping an eye on my vitals with a triple guage set-up, seeing as how this is my first diesel after doing my first inital round of mods is it really nessesary to have a pyro? I think its more of cheap insurance to keep an eye on boost, egt and fuel pressure seeing as how its not stock anymore. Thoughts?

This is what the mini max can monitor from its display. 2010-2012 6.7L Dodge Cummins - H&S Performance click on "Chart of available gauges" link...

Yes I would add a pyro if the mini max doesn't come with one already.

Right on, I personally like digital gauges vs. analog but in the end it's your money and your decision.
