Continuation of the overhead display (went over the 10,000 character limit per post)
COMPASS/TEMPERATURE/TRIP COMPUTER MODE
This display provides the outside temperature, one of the eight compass headings to indicate the direction the vehicle is facing, and vehicle trip information. The compass and temperature display is the normal display. When the C/T button is pressed the EVIC returns to the compass/temperature display from all other functions.
The trip computer function will be displayed if the STEP button is pressed from the Compass/Temperature display mode. The trip computer displays the following information:
TRIP – Shows the total distance traveled since the last reset. To reset the TRIP function, press and hold the RESET button.
ELAPSED TIME – Shows the total elapsed time of travel since the last reset. Elapsed time will increment when the ignition switch is in the ON/RUN or START positions.
UNIT IN US/METRIC – Press the RESET button to toggle between US and METRIC.
AVG. MPG – Shows the average fuel economy since the last reset. When the fuel economy is reset, the display will show dashes for two seconds. Then the history information will be erased, and the averaging will continue from the last fuel average reading before the reset. (Example: If your Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) displays 18 AVG. MPG and the RESET button is pressed, the previous averaging history will be erased and the display will return to the 18 AVG. MPG, not to 0 AVG. MPG). The display may take several miles for the value to change dependent upon driving habits.
MI TO EMPTY (Distance To Empty) – Shows the estimated distance that can be traveled with the fuel remaining in the tank. This estimated distance is determined by a weighted average of fuel economy, according to the current fuel tank level. Distance MI TO EMPTY cannot be reset through the RESET button. When the DTE value is less than 30 miles (48 km) estimated driving distance, the DTE display will change to a text display of "LOW FUEL." This display will continue until the vehicle runs out of fuel. Adding a significant amount of fuel to the vehicle will turn off the "LOW FUEL" text and a new DTE value will display.
UNIVERSAL GARAGE DOOR (HOMELINK®) TRANSCEIVER
The EVIC features a driver-interactive display which includes HomeLink® system messages. For additional information on the HomeLink® transceiver (Refer to 08 - Electrical/8M - Message Systems/Overhead Console - Description) .
HERE IS THE OIL CHANGE RESET PROCEDURE
OIL CHANGE INDICATOR - RESET

Hi everyone.
Getting a "Sevice Now see Dealer" on the overhead but no codes detected by smarty.
Any ideas?
I did the key on and off 3 times and it gives me dashed followed by done. No code there either.
About 3 weeks ago - I installed smarty ME and egr+cooler delete along with 5" turbo back. I have had no problems and about 600 miles without any codes.
I did some searching but couldn't find an answer.
Any help will be great.
Thanks
GMB

To reset it, you have clear codes.
I know that it doesn't set one that you can see.
So use the Smarty to clear it anyway and it will go away.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
Here are steps taken.
It is not the oil change indicator. I reset it about 800 miles ago after my last oil change. The message that is displayed is "Oil Change Required". I clear this every 2500 to 3000 miles.
Hi Cummings67, I cleared all codes with Smarty but that didn't help. Thanks for the suggestion.
Hi Cumminscontrol, I did a search for your post "6.7 smokin" but could not find it. Can you shoot me a link? Thanks.
Hi cbrahs, I am trying your suggestion now. I have returned that program to stock (removed the smarty) and have both batteries disconnected as I write this. I am going to touch the negative and positive together and then wait atleast 5 minutes before reconnecting them.
Once I reconnect the batteries, I will reinstall the Smarty 6.7 before starting the truck. Hopefully this will take care of it. I will respond with my results in a few.
Thanks for everyones help while I get my baby healthy again.

Hi cbrahs, you suggestion worked. That frickin annoyance is now gone.
I was beating my head over it.
I must say, I was a little hessitant to discharge the capasitors by touching the positive and negative terminals together.
Thanks again to everyone.
