5" Turbo-Back Exhaust Question
Hey guys,
I just recently purchased a 2014 Ram 2500 6.4L. I previously had a 2500 with the 5.7 hemi. I like my trucks to be loud. On the old truck I hacked off the stock muffler, put a flowmaster or magna flow or something equivalent to that on, and dumped it out right behind the passenger side back seat, with some turn-downs on it. It rumbled the road. The problem was, it rumbled the inside as well, couldn't barely have a conversation. I am wanting to put either a 5" turbo back or 5" straight exhaust, run it all the way out the back with a 6" can on it. Will I get a lot of interior noise if I go that route or will it just be nice and annoying for my neighbors and fellow motorists. Thanks in advance.

If youre dumping it way out back straight-piped, the resonance wont be that bad inside. You will hear a good rumble inside, but not enough to be annoying. Outside, on the other hand, will be quite noisey for the neighbors and others. The noise police may have a thing or two to say about it. (been there done that) I do suggest you at least put a straight-thru perforated muffler to give a really deep tone to your rig. It will tone down the noise, but produce a rather audible "bark" when you mash the pedal. Good luck!

Dont feel bad Bigg Redd. I didnt catch it either, until it was pointed out. My truck still has the factory warranty on it, so im rethinking the TB and straight exhaust. Any recommendations on a DPF exhaust? Whats loudest out the back?
