Default Transmission build

I burnt the 4th and OD clutches out of my 68rfe. I have it torn apart and I don't see any other problems. The truck only has 75k on it. I am going back with Alto Red Eagle, or Raybestos stage 1 clutches. Is there anything else besides the valve body that I should do while it is apart?

What do you mean by "doing the valve body?"

As far as the valve body, I meant I am aware of the issues and that it needs to be checked. I haven't figured out how to list all my stuff yet but I am running an H&S black maxx with the overdrive tune, doesn't that negate a shift kit?

I was not aware there were any HD Diesel-compatible 68RFE kits on the market at this time.

I knew they were available, but with my H&S overdrive tune should I still run a shifted kit?

Well, that's eBay for ya!

I would refer to the Transgo site and ask them first. They say the 45RFE kit is upgraded to fit the 68RFE, but no mention of diesel anything.

NOTICE: This kit contains an electrical part (Resistor) which is not compatible with aftermarket engine programmers that modify the transmission hydraulic pressure.

I suppose it might be just fine. Let the buyer beware...

All it does is makes the shifts firmer with less clutch slippage so I wouldn't see why not, but while the trans is apart you should probably install a good triple disk convertor (somebody can chime in on this with respect to the 68rfe) but I know its a weak link in 47/48 models
