Boosting Mileage In The 6.4

Well
Right now the best way to do it is get a tuner that can turn off the regen, right now the 2 that I hear the most about are the KEM tuner and the Spartan Diesel Perf tuner. These 2 are way ahead of the rest. Others have tuners but dont eliminate the regen as far as I know. Along with the turning off of the regen remove the dpf. But remember, that is against the law! Some dealers will frown upon it but most have seen 20mpg or more after they did it. Its funny, The government mandated these systems to cut down on emissions but they use twice the fuel, you tell me how doubling your fuel miliage by removing there crap is bad for the environment!

Well, Gee Mr. Wizard....
It is an additional item in line on the exhaust system that helps trap soot and other material that would normally be released into the atmosphere. The trapped particles are then burned off during the regeneration cycle. High exhaust temps are used to perform this. That is the reason for Fords louvered dual tips. They are used to assist cooling the exhaust system and pull cooler air around the tips.
I am sure I don't have all the details listed. I haven't read up extensivly on the new emissions regs. I hope it is a long time before I own a vehicle that has them.
