I'm planning the same thing once my 6.5 gives up. if you want to run your 4l80 you'll need a controller and an adaptor. theres alot of different options for mechanical transmissions if you go that way. you could also run an allison but youd be spendin alot. theres a wealth of info on alot of sites. which 6bt were you planning on swapping in? theres alot less wiring with a mechanical 12v (1989-1998.5 model years) as opposed to the ISB 24v (1998.6-2002 model years) heres a thread build up off of 4btswaps.com
