6.0L Bombs (Aftermarket) Discussion of 6.0 Liter Ford Powerstroke Turbo Diesels Related To Performance And Longevity

A friend of mine just bought an 03 6.0. He knows someone that has an Edge evo and a Bullydog triple for sale. Anyone have any opinions on which is better? I'm trying to get him into a sct instead but he won't listen. Thanks ... JOIN NOW TO REMOVE TRACER

Explain to your friend that unless he wants to be the guy selling the Edge or Bullydog in a couple of weeks, he should just buy the SCT and start with the most 6.0 friendly programmer available. Eric writes tunes that work great with 6.0 engine and auto trans.

Well, he put the bullydog on his truck saturday. It feels like a dog compared to my truck with my sct on the canned performance tune. He kept telling me the difference was because my truck is a reg cab and his is a cclb. I gave up trying to change his mind. Its his money I guess. Just means my trucks still faster than his and I know that will drive him crazy.

Tell him to get ready to buy a new tranny...bullydog rips them up! My friend had an 05 6.0 and he put a bullydog on it the first day on the highest setting and blew up his head gaskets, oil cooler, tranny...i dnt remember everything that was destroyed but he was very upset when he found out the cause of it all was from the bullydog.

He thinks he will be ok. It was on the other truck for the last couple years and the only problems he had were two tps. The guy selling them originally had the edge on and after two sets of headgaskets took it off and put the bullydog on. He was selling these and getting a banks sixgun. I tried talking him into a sct also but he thinks since its banks it would be safest for his truck. I'm glad I'm not as hard headed as those two. I spent an hour reading on here and had my mind made up on a sct. I don't think he bought the bullydog yet so when he gets back from a hunting trip I'll make him sit and read around some threads on here. Thanks for the responses everyone

Custom tunes for your SCT will blow those canned tunes out of the water, just as those canned tunes did the bullydog stuff.

You should do yourself a favor and spend the $80 to get an extreme tune from Eric. It was the best $80 I ever spent and the longest lasting smile I've ever had.

I'm getting innovative tunes for myself for xmas. Pretty sure I'm going for the xtreme street, xtreme race, and a tow tune. Anyone know if eric does a lope idle for a 6.0? I heard some videos of 6.4s. I'm missing the lopeyness of my cummins since its tore apart and probably will be till at least summer.

For a long time they did not, as I believe it was hard on parts. I had heard rumors that he does do them now and has gotten it pretty good to be reliable yet. Your best bet is to contact Eric and ask him personally and see what his thoughts are on it.

I have all three of the tunes you're looking at getting, I like all of them. Also if you tow under 10k lbs, you can just get the standard street tune as it's safe to tow up to that weight. I have the tune that is capable of 10k+ and I love it. I will probably never need it, but I got it just in case. I usually use this towing tune during the winter months, I like it a lot for regular daily driving.
