Shaving The Timing Advance Piston

a spacer to give you more smoke screw travel, so the fuel pin can go up higher to get rid of more smoke

guess i have to pull the spacer out of my truck and drive it some, i get used to the power so fast it always seems slow to me, thats why more and more parts.

well... i cant speak 100% for the timing spacer alone... seeing as i haven't driven the truck too much after i got the air dog installed. but i slapped the spacer, M3 fuel pin and 366 spring in all at the same time. but i backed my static timing back down to stock. and had to screw the full load screw completely out for pump re-assembly. i went in 8 full turns. (maybe 2-3 turns out from where i was prior to installation) i've noticed an insane amount of smoke reduction with the same amount of boost, engine response and turbo response is insane compared to stock. rollin about 40-45 mph i can put it to the floor build upward of 30 psi and crank up to 2500 rpm and accelerate at a relatively quick rate... i'm losing ALOT thru the trans so the trans upgrade is next on the list... but over all i am ecstatic with the results its worth the money.

the install is pretty straight forward. the kit comes with 2 new o rings and two 5mm allen head replacement screws. the stock fasteners are T30's and its tight between the P/S pump neck and the fastener... i used a 3/8 drive T30 socket with a 1/4 inch ratchet wrench on the torx shank. the spring is pretty beefy and will give you some trouble on re-assembly. its all pretty simple... there is a shim behind the spring... dont lose it i actually used a small amount of grease to "tack" things together to hold it in place on re assembly... getting the replacement screw started it a pain... and it isnt hard to pull the starter thread out of the pump so... take your time
