yes, from experience, an HO pump will not work on a SO engine with an SO ECM, dont try it, waste of money. it has to do with the programing and internal setup of the HO pump which cannot be altered, and you cant get a flash to turn a SO ECM into an HO, only way itd work is if you try swaping the ECM to an HO ECM which will help, ive got one brand new for an 01-02 HO 24 valve, if you decide to go with the HO pump, pm me if interested.

Besides the SO pump has bigger plungers inside so it will make more horse power than an HO pump. Most HOs are tapped out at about 500 ponies.

Ya you can't run a HO pump on a SO motor but I have ran SO pumps on a HO motor.

i think you may have to run different injectors as well, something with the lift pressure settings is different

It is a little different. The injectors on an HO are slightly smaller too. and the engine runs a bit more compression.

i thought so, i know my buddy put a brand new HO IP on his 98.5, put a tst PM3 on it, only made 245 hp max on the dyno, we then spent a whole day and a half tinkering with it before switching it out for a new SO one and he broke 350 hp,
