Default Low Fuel Pressure

I just put a cheep fuel pressure gauge on top of the filter housing. It showed about 5 psi at idle and went to 2 when I would open the throttle. Is this the cause of my hick-uping .... starving for fuel????? When going down the road it will buck once in a while

sounds like a problem.....................and the 2 psi is without a load on it too, if you were driving the truck than it would most likely be zero psi.

is this for your 95 or is this for the 98.5 24 valver ???????????

the 94-98 vintage has an excellent OEM fuel pump, sounds like yer needin a new one

if its the 98.5 than go with a Fass or Airdog

If this is on a 24V I would be looking at parking it until you get a new lift pump - dont bother with the factory POS either. Get and airdog or fass.

don't forget about that fuel filter, it's worth changing, just in case.......filters are cheap compared to pumps

Yeah but which side is your filter on??? Before or after the pump?

If it after the pump then the pump not protected and failure tend to happen more.
(Stock setup)

If it BEFORE the pump then all the fuel is filter before the pump and wear isn't a issue...
(AirDog or FASS setup)

A bit of difference in protection...

In my case its before and after... (Stock filter in place with filter cartridge and AD 150 before).
