Full Review - TS MVP
Hello Everyone, I finally got enough time to write a good review on the TS MVP.
Truck: 01 Quad Cab 4x4, 8ft bed, tool box and stock tires.
Trans: Stock 47re
Mods: BHAF, 4" muffler exhaust, Custom J-hook, gauges, heat wrapped manifold and turbo
Pros:
Very Easy Install (30min and I am slow)
Very fine tuneable
Nice bump in power over stock, more responsive
Nice bump in mileage (avg 23 mpg had calc)
No smoke, just power
Very stack friendly with a fueling box
Low EGT's
Cons:
Wish the adjustment **** had clicks, like 10 positions
Not a huge power gain compared to some
Some real world numbers @ 75% chip ( best place for mileage)
Flat Cruising: 550* EGTs @ 65mph, 4-5psi boost
Small Grade: 750* EGTs @ 65mph, 9psi boost
Steep Grade: 900* EGTs @ 65mph, 12psi boost
WOT 5 to 70mph, 1000* max EGTs and 25 psi boost
I would buy again as the truck is much more fun to drive than stock, yet i don't have to watch the gauges all the time. Plus I think with a good set of injectors this chip would really shine.
Thanks

Glad I could shed some light on the box, its really a nice piece.

I wanted to address the so called surge issue some report with this box.
I first noticed the surge when i had the chip at 75% (where i keep it) and did not have the radio on. I could hear what i thought was a surge but could not feel it. The exact situation was, 3/4 full tank, flat stretch of road at 70mph with the cruise on. I turned off the cruise and it went away, so i drove a few miles like that.
Then wanted to prove my theory, i turned the cruise back on, and at first no surge but then a few miles down the rode it reappeared. And why did it come back? It was because of boost. I have a digital boost gauge and at what appeared to be 70mph on the speedo, my boost was jumping between 5 and 6 psi. Like inbetween boost. So i slowed down using the cruise (like 67mph) and the surge was gone, then speed up to about 73mph and the surge was gone.
In short, since the TS fuels on boost, the box was getting mixed signals. I could not feel this surge, only hear it and since that trip I have not had any more surge issues when driving with the cruise on (approx 800 miles).
Hope this helps

Hello everyone,
I am thinking of stacking a TST PM3 with the TS. I have done lots of searching, but can't seem to find out how you go about doing so, the hook ups mainly concern the MAP sensor. Since the TST and Ts both call of a MAP plug in, what order do you do connect them or is there a splitter?
I talked to TST and then said you don't really need to stack, but I though you needed a timing box with there program?
Thank you for your help

Hmm, that seems to make the most sense but wouldn't the TST fool boost to the TS causing issues? Anyone know if this is true? I know people stack these boxes together, with reported good results.
