I have a couple of question? Can you swap out the rear axle w/ drum brake to an 04 rear axle w/ disc brakes.... are they the same as far as bolting up or not? if they do bolt up the same do i have ... JOIN NOW TO REMOVE TRACER

The reason i'm asking i found an 04 2500 QC wrecked front collision w/ no motor or tran for a $1000. was just liking to swap out the drum brakes for as cheap as possible. I've done this before but on a camaro. |

2nd gens. also came with disk brake rears. All the auto's built in i believe 01-02 had a disk brake dana 70 rear and I think it was an option on the dana 80's. As far as swaping a rear out of an 04 into your 2nd. gen. I dont think thats gonning to work unless you weld on new spring mounts because the frame are different. I'm also not sure if an 04 rear is wider than a 2nd. gen rear.
