Default May Have The Fix For Big Sticks In An AUTO Bucking

Was talking to Scott today and he HAD the same issue alot of us were having , Big Sticks /Auto's and Bucking at low speeds

You go to the PCM - Behind air filter

and Cut the orange wire w/black tracer on it and Insert a toggle switch ran to the cab ,

This will lock and unlock the Torque Converter

Just leave it off until your at cruising speeds and turn it on when you are

This is said to Fix Low Speed Bucking in Autos with big sticks

Ive yet to do it , but if anyone beats me to it , DID IT WORK ? -

Yeah mines been in for about 2 years. You will LOVE it. There is a fuse or relay you have to take out and make a jumper wire too. I will look around and see if I can find wich one. -

mine works like a charm..... be warned though if you forget it is there and slow down it WILL harm the converter..... and a stock tranny dosen't like shifting gears with the converter locked..... it'll do it but it'll prolly break something.....

and also look at the built date on those instructions for the older trucks as i had to get my truck reflashed at a tune of $65.... -

I'm running the SP Diesel trans lock up controller and love it. You can set the 3rd lock up speed and OD lock up speed. I lock up 3rd at about 30 and 43 OD lock up. It works great and customer support is second to none.
The only problem i have is with the Smarty and touchy throttle on bumpy roads. Kinda herky jerky. -

I thought about an ATS copilot or something similar but none of them could comete with the $2.95 I have in this one. There is a way, I plan to figure out when I get home to splice it into your brakelight switch so when you hit the brakes it will unlock the converter. This would be perfect for the 47RE guys b/c ours wont lock up in 1st gear. -

IMO, the big sticks do not cause bucking. I think it's a combination of things mostly relating to too low of an rpm.

Any use of the Smarty in my truck with big sticks results in bucking, surging and delayed (higher mph) lockup. I do not get that with any other box or combo of boxes I have tried.

Would this be a fix for my tranny not shifting past 3rd and will the converter stay locked in O/D if the switch is turned off?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I dont think it would be a fix if it's not shifting into OD. the truck will still act normall when the switch is off as far as lockup occuring in different gears. With the switch on a 47RE should lock up right after the 1-2 shift and stay locked until the switch is surned off. -
