A bigger turbo isnt going to do much for you unless you feed it more fuel. a bigger turbo is only part of the equation. More air + more fuel = more power.
This will be the true medium duty version of the engine. Does it have a P-7100 injector pump? If so, theres lots you can do but you also have to weigh the fact that you want to tow heavy - so you really cant go crazy with the modifications.
Looking @ buying a 95 FL70 Freightliner with a 5.9 w/31,000 miles 6 speed trans. The truck weights 11,000LBS and will be towing 20,000LBS. Everything is stock on the Engine it has Bosch 7100 pump. My friend has a Halset Turbo off a 6 liter that has a electric waste gate can I use it ?
Do you guys have any good ideas for getting more Power. Thanks
If you are talking about an HE351 from a 6.7 Dodge, that would be a nice upgrade. Drawbacks are you would not have the variable vane exhaust brake function and it's a little tricky getting the wastegate to work without the Dodge electronics, but it can be done.
