i was wondeing if i could block off my boost line to the wastegate and get a little more out my turbo. i was looking today and figured out you cant take a 16 penny nail and block off the line. would this increase boost, lower egts, or what would this do. just trying ti figure out what i can do to run no plate a little safer. im plannin on setting the timing but waiting on the money for the kit.

But in the end, your going to be out of the turbo map and making hot air. In turn loosing power and most likely overspooling the charger and causing failure.
It's okay to change the "map" of the wastegate actuation but not the final opening pressures. The wastegate is set for maximum efficency out of the charger, you might push a bit more boost but it's not worth internal damage caused by flying turbo fins!

But again, Thats just my opinion!

You can make it work, but once you hit above 35 psi your turbo is just blowing hot air. I would just do a boost elbow and adjust the wastegate to find out what works best with your set up JMO

i figured it would be almost the same as doing the wastegate block kinda. eecept for the fact of that if pressure gets to high in the turbo it would still push the wastegate open. almost like a failsafe. atleast thats how it would be with other turbo setups ive worked with. if im wrong and the wastegate on the hx35 doesnt work like this then someone let me know

Your pretty much correct. About 2 yrs ago when I just wanted to hit big boost numbers and show off, I plugged the gate. It drove up the line pressure to my tranny, and about 7 months later, when I lost alot of my boost and I confirmed it wasn't a boost leak, we looked at the shafts and the rear shaft had enough play in it to move it all around the housing... At that point your pretty much rebuilding the turbo or buying a new one.

The boost elbow and wastegate adjustment will do wonders for you especially if your keeping it from going over 35 psi
