Default changing evaporator

ac system dosent hold feon for more then 2weeks havetaken it to the shop a frw times to add freon and dye but cant find where its leeking they tell me its the evaporator . im jus going to.do the install myself but need to kno if the lines need to be soldered to the new evaporator of if they bolt on like they do to the condenser

Before you do that check the front seal on the compressor! While running the freon is leaking past but when it's off you can't find the leak! Been there done that learn from my headache!

They dont bolt on, you need a special tool to unhook the lines. Napa has them and they are cheap.
