Default smoke while idle

howdy guys,
I think I might have a problem. Ive got an 03 Cummins that is chipped with a superchips cortex pack. When i am at a light or just idling smoke is coming from the exhaust. It is bearly visible during the day, but at night you can see it pretty bad. It looks like im black smoking while sitting still. when i take off all resumes to normal. at idle it smells pretty rich of exhaust as well. I use it on the tow setting to get some extra mileage and power to and from work and around town and stuff. I know it wasnt happening before i messed with the programmer and put it on the performance setting. i didnt change any setting internally. it is currently on the tow setting like i said just wondering if yall have any ideas? or if yall could tell me what wrong so i dont break down on the side of the road one day...

feel free to ask any questions about anything else that i may of left out.

appreciate it

If it quits when the programmer is removed, its probably the programmer fueling...but it may also be the programmer bringing to light a deeper issue, such as worn injectors.
