P0341 on a 5.9L technical question
I am a diesel tech at an independant. I have an 06 mega cab that I have been fighting a p0341 code for about a month. I have replaced both the cam and crank sensor, replaced the cam sensor pigtail and connector, replaced the pcm per pinpoint test off Alldata, inspected the wiring for the AC compressor because I heard it could cause interference with the cam sensor signal. I removed the front cover and oil pan to inspect. Have found nothing. The vehicle has a lot of aftermarket power upgrades. Turbo, camshaft, programmer, intake, lifted 12 inches, head studs so maybe injectors it throws the code at random. Sometimes it takes up to 20 or 30 miles on a test drive. Any ideas would help. Thank you.

Well either people saw the Ford under my name or just plain didnt want to reply. Its cool ill try to stay on my side of the playground from now on. But I went to another forum and found my answer, so Im happy now. I found the harness to the A/C compressor cycling switch was laying against the frame rail and had worn thru causing a short to ground on the VREF signal.

Didn't see it until now. That's a very common issue. We don't do much gas vehicle repair in my shop but I've found iatn to be a great trustworthy source for help when working on a gasser or something I don't have a clear understanding of. There's lots of experienced techs, you can view by vehicle type and occasionally you'll even find a product engineer helping out. Not saying forums can't help but the information can be questionable. These forums just are not marketed to the repair industry.

We do mostly diesel at my shop, I am almost strictly diesel now, but I have only done Fords for 8 yrs, just left the dealer 3 months ago, now trying to learn the other makes. I joined this site for the technical aspect with adding power. We do a lot of upgrades at my shop and wanted to know more about what I was doing instead of just throwing parts at it. I learned more about the 5.9l cummins on one truck than the 15 before.
