NV5600 input shaft

NV5600 input shaft
I removed my trans today to replace the front seal on trans. What I found was more than I planned on.
The pilot bearing in the flywheel was in a thousand pieces laying on the bell housing. Causing the input shaft to slap around in the front bearing retainer (input shaft cover) and chewing up the shaft (see picture). The shaft also has ~ 1/4'' of play side to side (see picture). Is a rebuild necessary or is this considered acceptable.
Where should I go from here.
Thanks,
If you have any questions please ask

id say your input shaft bearing and pocket bearing need replaced and then reset the endplay on both shafts. the input shaft bearing supports the input shaft, so it wont be rocking up and down and left to right when the trans is installed but you dont want alot of play at the input shaft. You might could get away with just reshimming it for awhile but id replace bearings while I had it out.
