Default any way to eliminate the engine management computer

Is there any way to eliminate the engine management computer on a 2006 24v, say with an older p pump? I know of a truck sitting up because no one could get the electronics to work to run the truck. I'd like to get the drivetrain to put in my 1979 Ford crew cab.

You realize you would have to switch the head and the front structure of the engine. here is a write up on something similar P-Pump 24-Valve Cummins Swap Bosch P7100 Injection Pump - Diesel Power Magazine
