whats the best tires
#21
If that's the case, I'd recommend these:
Dura Grappler
I've got 30k miles on a set of 285-75/17s on my 1st Gen and they do not appear to be near half gone yet. Very quiet and highest load rating in it's class, if you tow. That size equals about a 34" tall tire so will give a nice jump in overall gearing above stock for a bit better highway fuel mileage.

I love my 285/70/17 terra grapplers. They have real good side bite in the snow and run quiet down the road. I haul livestock with a 45 foot double decker featherlite trailer with gvr's around 32,000 pounds. The only problem is that the trailer catches the snow in the front and it builds up to the point of filling my bed. Sooooo, in other terms, when you are stuck, you are stuck good!

toyo's are great for around town driving and the occasional offroading, but with very little high way time they dont last plus they are one of the heavier tires on the market. I have a set of NITTo trail grappler 37x13.50R22 on my truck that sees an average of 40 miles of highway a day and they lost hardley any tread on a 1900 mile drive from nevada to Ohio. you also cant go wrong with a set of pro-comps. But dont waist the money on toyos

I have TOYO OC A/T'S. Was mostly happy w/ the 1st set. Discovered I couldn't air them to the spec's. on the door. They wore in the middle too much. And, at about 80% wear, got a bulge in one. That was a fun ride, bouncing for about 200 miles. About 150 miles to work and then around for a day before I could get to a discount tire. Got second set because tires I wanted weren't available at my home town tire shop. I have found discount tires to be an awesome place. Great prices and great customer service. When I went in there w/ that knot on my tire they moved my spare to my 'pretty' wheel and didn't charge me anything!! Hasn't anyone tried Mickey Thompson? They claim to have more tread. Was planning on them next for my '03 Silverado 2500HD.

I had the nitto terra grapplers on my truck when I bought it. They wore out after 10k miles. They were almost brand new. I then bought a set of wheels with interco swampers on them. They were only 3k miles on them when I bought them and then they got 8k more and they were worn out. I have kelly safaris now with 5k miles and they barely have worn any. I'm impressed by them. I'm going with them probably when I get new tires.
