Engine Light On but No Codes

Engine Light On but No Codes
('06 3/4 ton Cummins- besides it being straight-piped, it's stock)
Last night, the engine light came on but the only thing I really noticed was when I came to a complete stop, it sort of felt like something gave it a push from behind only 3 times of the several times I hit a red light. Other than that, it was normal and thought it was just all in my head.
So this morning with it still on, I went to O'reilly's and AutoZone and both of their diagnostic scanners said "No codes", when the engine light was clearly on. Have any of yall had this happen before and what caused that to happen?
Later this afternoon, it cleared...
Thanks.

Nevermind-it came back on again tonight with the same push-feeling when I come to a complete stop.

This happened to my 06 after the dealer replaced 2 injectors. A day after I got it back, the light came back on but no codes showed up the 2 times autozone checked it. A few days later another injector went out. So maybe the injector had a hiccup that caused the light to come on, but it wasn't bad enough to throw a code until it actually went bad. It may not be anywhere close to whats going on with your truck, but you may keep an eye on it if it stays on incase something did happen, it just wasnt that bad. Hope this helps

It's back on again and this time it happened in the daytime. Had the same push/surge feeling but more often. Still no codes, just the engine light. I was told that after so many codes, only the dealerships' scanner can catch the code. A few said maybe it's the throttle positioning sensor that needs adjustment. I don't want to have to take it to the dealer for the 3rd time and get nothing achieved. I never had so many problems with a truck before...

^ Oh my God! I hope it's not that!
I know a few months after I got it in October, it would hold its shift for what seemed too long and so I would let off because the RPM's would almost redline and that was just normal driving getting up to speed. Then, for the past few months it's been okay.
The guy before me, which is in his 50's or 60's, never used a programmer but just used it every now and then to tow a tractor. Then, I just use it to tow a boat or a trailer loaded with 4-wheelers- that's it. That's pathetic if that's all it takes.
