Default looking to buy a 06 or 07, what to look out for

ok here it is, selling my 96 12 valve 4x4 auto, and looking at either a 07 2500 4x4 4 door auto with 225,000 miles and 3 inch lift and bull nose aftermarket bumper on front for 16,500.00 or a 06 3500 4x4 4 door auto with 125,000 miles unmolested stock for 17,000.00 they are giving me 10,000.00 trade in on my truck, what are some of the pro's and cons of the common rail ? what should i look out for, i am all ready planning on gauges for pyro, boost, and tranny temp's. as well as fuel supply and rail pressure gauges and a fass or air dog 150 fuel supply pump, as well as a trip to the tranny shop for a trans go shift kit and service, what else should i look at doing, i also plan on keeping an extra injector line in the glove box for either #5 or #4 , can't remember witch one is prone to cracking, thanks for the help here,,

i would go for the 06 almost half the miles for one thing and if 07 has 6.7 in it another good reason to go with 06. Plus 06 is all stock so chances are it hasn't been abused as much. as far as injector lines on 06 I have 144,000 on mine with no problems. I do keep an extra fuel filter though.

06 as well. As long as you keep the injector line holder bolts torqued (twice a year check), be good there.

Have had my '06 for almost three years now. Monthly, pull RV's, boats, etc. to make a little cash and it has performed great for me for over 60,000 miles. Hope you get a good one. Small points, look for leaking coolant at the passenger side. Also, are tie rod ends very loose? Expect some play. Good truckin' to ya.
