Default Engine Temperature Issue

Im trying to figure out why my engine temperature rises when I have my truck in gear but im just sitting with my foot on the brake and not moving. Its fine when the truck is in park and when im driving but it rises about 20 degrees or more when im in drive and have my foot on the brake and not moving.

Torque converter is probably the biggest heat producer in the whole drivetrain.

Tranny fluid level??? If low could it cause excessive heat from TC? Just spit balling here

Clogged tranny filter might be adding to the problem.

Default temp rise

With the trans in park there is no load on the engine but in drive there is a definate load hence a rise in temp. If you have an egt guage the egt will always be higher in drive than in park or neutral.

Coolant level, t-stat issue, faulty radiator cap could be 3 other factors as well.
