Default rattle type motor noise

03 2500 qc auto 4x4 ..169.000 miles i hear a rattle through the wheel well on the exhaust side ...if you go to the other side of the motor you cant really hear it. valves have been done it dose not smoke on start up or while driving. It starts normal idels fine run strong. rattlr really faint at start up but gets louder as the motor gets hot. Know one seems to be able to get a grasp on it but its driving me nuts...like a couple of bolts in my motor. Heres a vid and sound of the noise....11 sec to the end when you hear it!!!

What mods? Your sound clip doesn't work. Check the obvious first valve adjustment then maybe it's injector rattle?

That is very metalic sounding! get a length of hose or a stethescope and track it down!
Pull the valve cover and run it see if you can see anything or hear something better! Sounds like a rocker arm assembly flopping around!

ran it with the valve cover off...still could not fully track it down..but sound like its coming from exhaust port 5 or 6...

Dose anyone else have any input?

took the truck to the shop ....they are leaning towards injection rattle. They are going to clean my injectors to see if that makes a diff on the rattle.

Nope it would just make metalic sound till it broke in half then it would destroy everything in the cylinder including the head! I'd hate to be right can't really diagnos over the internet! Find a good diesel shop and ask their advice or just tear the head off if you think that's what it is! Also see if the valves are all the same height a bad valve seat will make the valve stem stick up higher than the rest. How was the valve adjustment way off on any in that area?

ok all the valve lash was with in spec,s...One thing i did learn
is after i got it back from the dodge shop(cleaned injectors) the rattle was alittle less . The dodge dealership unpluged my ez box. so today i pluged it back in and wow the rattle was way louder...so that tells me that it is the injectors are the colprit... number 6.... or im i wrong to think this? .....is this logical???

It's called injector rattle common on some programmers Nothing you can do about it except get a different programmer like a smarty! Do a search online for injector rattle!
