48RE 2-3 flare shift
06 5.9L all stock, 78000 miles
Under light throttle the 2-3 shift will act like it is slipping sort of like a clutch slipping in a manual transmission. If you put your foot in it a little bit it will shift fine. Dealer has adjusted bands, replaced valve body, did all PCM updates. Still have the problem. No heavy towing or programmers. Any ideas? Thanks

does the same thing but more dependable.
look in thourghbreed diesel web site.
it's another weak point in the dodges.
there's also a screw you can acess while the pan is off to boost line pressure for firmer shifts.
just look around the web, you'll find info on it.
very easy fix/upgrade

i can't access the place i got it from.
it was a brand name site to do with trany parts.
don't know what trany it came from either.
sure did the job for me.
i came down mt washington in 2nd gear at the bottom it started to do the flared shifting routine.
started to reshearch these sites and got what i needed.
try goggle 48 series tranny flared shifts or such.

Solenoids
I went to that web site, it looks like a 4l80e pressure control solenoid with a cast housing that bolts into place where the oem one goes. If I remember right that is a pwm solenoid and yes the dodge one is a crappy design, there is a adjustment on top of the gm one but have never played with it
