Default cat size

does anyone know what the inlet and outlet size for a stock Catalytic Converter on 06.
I am trying to decided if i can go with a turbo back or cat back exhaust.

I can't answer your question but why not just go with a turbo back? Besides if you're going to be doing any fueling modifications, you're just going to kill the catalytic converter anyways

the cat will be gutted i am just wanting to keep the shell there so its less hassle to get it inspected.

Oh i see. Well its gotta either be 3 or 3.5 inches. It might be 3" but don't quote me on that.

Try not to gut it ... some places are doing a "tap test" to see if the internals are still there, and it does sound different when you gut them.

See if you can knock a hole through it instead, then the sound doens't change.

It's for sure 4" in and out, the 06's were stock 4" turbo back

yup it is 4" just register your truck where there are no inspections then your set

well we have annual inspections in texas and they have started cracking down on diesels with out "mufflers" around me and im sure that there are gonna start cracking down on trucks with out "cats" on them.
