I have a 05 3500 and just was putting my tranny back in when i slid out the front i noticed a piece of steel sticking through my fan blade with a two wires in it. well come to find out somehow the mounting braket for the fan clutch wire got loose or somehow the fan cought it bent it all to hell and ruined my fan. got a new fan and clutch on the way but i dont know how that bracket is supposed to run the wire up. any ideas?

i had the same thing happen to my truck but the metal bracket got wrapped around the power steering pump pulley so consider your self luck there now after i changed it the first time started the truck up looked it all over everything was good went around the block and the wires were cut again so i started the whole process over and gain when i had it all put together looked it over again looked good went around the block cut again so now i am pissed here is 2 days pretty much i been jacking with this thing so i got a buddy who works for dodge talked to him he said it a common problem and there is no explanation so this time when i fixed it i extended the wires on the fan clutch zip tied them to the radiator so if it cuts the wires again the fan went through my radiator so if i where you i would get the new fan clutch and extend the wires take it from me i learned the hard way on this one if i could show you pics i would but the truck is in fairbanks alaska and i am in iraq i hope this helps just make sure you solder the wires alot of vibration up there i would hate for you to do all that work and then a crimp connector come loose on you i hope all this helps
