I had the Edge Juice w/Attitude in my 99CTD. I liked it in that truck, but heard the smarty is the way to go also.

Countrygirl, did he have the POD in the 06?

Don't tell your b/f that! He will see it as another thing you are comparing to your ex!

smarty for sure i had an edge juice on my 06 and thought it was good till i got a smarty... i have the s-06 pod and you can change it on the fly. just load up the 170 horse tune and run the pod on 70% until you feel like showin off then just plug it in and type in 99% and your done simple as that

Cummins,
When you use 99% of the 170 hp, did you change out your fuel system? Not looking to change out that yet, just want some more hp for now.

Nope not yet I still have the stock fuel system but I run my truck on the 60hp setting on 99% unless I'm pullin a load. I ran it on 170 for a couple days on 75% but put it back on 60 so I wouldn't be tempted to turn it up. Airdog is comin next after I get my tranny done but if you decide to get a smarty and run it on 60 you should be good and I promise you won't be kickin yourself for buyin it

fyrcaptain33. You might have to do A little further research, If the 06 is the same as the 05.. Then I would recommend the Bullydog Triple dog. I had my unit in my 03 Cummins and it was all right. Not bad mileage 15-21MPG Depending on whether I was towing the trailer or not. And just enough power that I wasn't wrecking my stock drive line... Now when I got my 09, I gave that unit to my Brother and he installed into his 05.... And that rig is hell on wheels with that thing. I didn't believe him till I drove it myself. More power then your drive line wants. He runs on the "Crazy Larry" Setting. And gets A true 26MPG. With the only other mod being A K&N Filter, Am not sure which filter though. But he baby's it alot of cruise control.. Cause sittin on the pedal is like controlin the throttle with A fire cracker. Your either goin for the win. Or out of it. Hope this helps.

Rhino.

"A true 26MPG"

Is that from the overhead computer? Must be a 2 wheel drive, short bed, regular cab, as I can't see a 4x4, QC get that kind of fuel mileage constantly.

i had a tripledog on my moms 07 and it ended up erasing the vin number one day and wouldnt run until i got a buddy of mine that was workin at the dealership to reprogram the vin in the truck, i couldnt even take the chip out at that time because there was no vin in the truck to match the vin that was locked in the programer so once i got that fixed and took it out i gave it to a buddy with a 05 and he said it had a bad cord so he replaced it and his truck has really long starts now.... i was not impressed
