Default Belt Tensioner??

Greetings to all from Western Nebraska..

On my 03 3500 2wd dually It has recently eaten a serpentine belt. Belt is rolling one way or the other and eating off the edges.. Looking for the possible reason?? this was a OE belt and the 3rd on the truck.. 240K Belt tensioner pulley is ruff and worn cockeyed... Can I just replace the flat pulley and sealed bearing or do I need to replace the whole shooting match... I also noticed when tight belt pressure is off the power steering pump that It leaks... normal or?? doesn't appear to have leaked before...

Yodel with your advice...

Goodyear / Belt Tensioner Warranty - 1 YR PN - 49216 $66.99 @ Autozone. didn't see a pulley by itself..... might want to check the dealer first but it'll prolly be cheaper to buy this than to just buy the pulley from Dodge.

Thanks for the info on the good for one year tensioner... I tore mine apart today and headed to the local NAPPPA with the pulley and bearing assembly it has a Dayco # on it so I know it can be bought seperatly in the outer world of truck parts... any way Glen the top dog hooked me up with assembly that was a little bit narrower and didn't have the outer lips on it ... I slamed it together in 15 and fired her up... so far works ok I will pour the horse's to it this weekend and see if it will stand the 400 mile road test... Fyi if your still using the OE air box take out the one bolt and lift it out of the way... make for a easer belt install also start on the left side and work your belt over the maze to the right... working smarter not Harder (my bride likes it harder until it smarts) ?? hour and 80 minutes the last time..

yeah....have replace mine twice. Seems both times the nylon thrust washers wore out and caused the pulley to "****" and push the belt into the tensioner frame, ride forward on the water pump pulley, and just generally be a PITA. I kept both of my old ones thinking I could source a rebuild for them....as the bearing is an easy one. I guess the nylon wouldn't be hard to fab either if necessary. Them buggers are expensive enough to warrant a try at it LOL

You can buy just the tensioner pulley from discount auto parts, around 40 bucks
