Default Got a new truck!!

Ok I just bought a new truck (2006 Dodge 3500 Mega Cab 5.9 Cummins). I want to start adding mods to it a little at a time. What are the first things I need to do? I want to do stuff to get better fuel mileage and power first. But I dont want to get to much power just yet because I dont wanna destroy my transmission any time soon, I cant afford to replace the transmission yet. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks. Oh yea right now the truck is completely stock and I get 17MPG highway and 15MPG City, not to bad for the size of the truck, but I would love to get 20 or more. -

Edge is the best mod for the money IMO

Also get a intake and exhaust... you will be in business! -

The smarty is better than the Edge for power(which I do plan to stack the two of them soon). The only problem is along with the smarty you have to get gauges and everything. I recomend the Edge since everything is built into one. Put the hot unlock on it and its a completly different truck! -

Ok thanks. Im going to put a cold air intake on it first and then a exhaust. Im going to put a S&B intake on it but im not sure about the exhaust yet, other than that its gonna be a 4" system turbo back. What brand is the best for the money? -

My truck came with a Silverline(which is a very good brand from what I was told) they are pretty $$$. A lot of guys seem to be going with a MBRP if you dont want to just kill the cat and muffler. -

I put a turbo back MBRP 4" on mine and love it. It is not too loud, but it has a nice growl to it. When I put the MBRP on, it was the best for the money. -

If you like a loud exhaust, you can get a straight through muffler like an Aeroturbine for example. If you need a little more, get a piece of 4" pipe and clamps for a converter delete and away you go.

BTW, if you plan on just a few extra horses, the converter can stay on as there isn't much difference in power, mileage, or EGT's with it left on. -

OK sorry I havent been on here in a while. So far I have got a S&B intake and I just took the stock muffler out and put in a Aeroturbine muffler since it has 4" exhaust already on it stock. Now I am starting to shop around for programmers. I pretty much have it narrowed down to two choices. Either the Bully Dog GT or Edge Juice with Attitude, mostly because they have gauges and everything built into one unit. Now I have to decide which one and thats why I'm asking you guys that have more experience with it than I do. Which one should I go with? -

I would suggest a propane injection - way better mileage and the power is fun too. PM me and I will tell you where to turn- -

i say get an edge juice wiht attitude and a TQ converter/VB and do a muffler delete. f you cant afford both get the TQ converter/VB and do the delete that way when you do get a power adder look out

ps. How about a diablo sport trinity???? http://www.diablosport.com/index.php...isplay&pid=151

GET a tq converter and VB first......that way you'll save breaking the tranny when you just have to try the highest setting LOL -
