Default hub replacement

i got to put some u-joints in a 06 dodge in the morning, and was wondering how yall get the hub out of the steering knuckle. on mine i beat and beat till i finaly got it out. and had to replace one of the hubs. i deffinatly dont need to mess up the hub, so whats the best way to get them out?

I forget how i got mine out... i sprayed A LOT of lube and let it sit for a little while.. I am pretty sure i used a slide hammer.... when i put it back together i used ALOT of anti sieze so maybe next time it wont be so hard..

yeah I used a slide hammer and a air hammer on mine. and alot of PB.

ummmmm.......... hopefully it dont have to many miles on it so it comes apart fairly easy. the slide hammer dont tear it up though. a heat gun might help to.

take the bolts out then screw one back in acouple of threads on the bottom back hole.
Then put a socket and a extendion to the lower control arm bracket and have someone start the engine and turn the wheel acts like a press while you beat on the knucle where the claiper goes. You mite have to do it to the front top bolt to. I tried a slide hammer to but i wrecked my bearings cause your hammering on the hub bearings not the housing

thanks, i had a puller, but on my 99 i pulled the bearing apart with it, i think it was bad any how, but i put the puller on it and turned the wheel, tightened it up again, turned the wheel, till i had a 1/8 inch gap behind it, then used an air hammer to spilt it up more.

I've always had to just pour the PB Blaster to it everyday for a week then beat the hell out of it with a BFH. Slide hammers and pullers seem to destroy the hubs more often than not.

i never touched the bearings with the slide hammer... maybe i was hammering on a different part of the hub.. i cant remember where i had it... mine came apart fairly easy.. truck had 65k
