Ive done it on a Ford 390 but not on our trucks...that one was 2wd as well. No problem...I would think a 4x4 would be a more of a challenge! Not hard but lots of labor...remember the pan gasket!

You'll need a tranny jack, no way you'll lift that trans/transfer case. Simply slide the old TC out, fill the new one with about 3 qts of fluid, and slide it in, making sure the slots line up with the pump and it goes all the way in.
Valve body is fairly easy, except for the park rod clip, which is a real PIA!!! |

Never done it.. Im the kind of guy that would rather pay someone to do it then tackle something like that myself... besides the fact that I don't have a tranny jack

yeup done it, I used two trans. jacks one under the trans. one under the transferr case. It worked pertty good just took my time and did it right.
turned the line pressure up and adjusted the shift points.
