Default Why am I getting to much boost?

Have an 03 with a m5, did a few mods, fuel system, injectors, smarty ssr, finally got all my gauges working some time Ago and would only make 24 psi, this is a he341 BTW I felt like that wasn't enough for stock for some reason. so I turned my pre Injection back to stock on the ssr. (if anyone knows the function of pre injection please include that too) well once it was back to stock with the same tune my pickup smoked more on the low end and I can peak at 32psi, which from what I've read is still safe for a he341 but much more than my stock wastegate ever let through before, is this just the boost fooler that's built into the programmer or is my wastegate getting stiff and not working anymore

It'll hit it and drop back down to about 28,i have 4.10 gears so there's not a single gear I can actually hold it in to see it it stays that high under load, I'm making lots of power on a factory clutch so I can't just go to a higher gear and floor it or I slip.

not true, once you get over 35ish psi with the he351, you are just blowing hot air into your engine. it already warms up from the compression which im sure you know, but getting too high of boost will just get the air hotter causing a drop in performance.

Alright I just didn't know since I still had a Manuel Wastegate, would it be worth buying an he351 for my pickup for $200 got a buddy who rolled pulling a trailer and I didn't know if it was a worthwhile upgrade

An HE351 is a nice upgrade, not enough for what you have for mods though.

About 35 psi on an HE341 and 40 psi on an HE351 is the limit. Drive pressure will be high on either one without some work to the turbine but as long as you don't make a habit of dumping the throttle at high boost they will stand up pretty well.

I'm not looking for super high numbers I like to run safe. Some ssr tunes I see people run scare me. The most aggressive tune I've run for more than than 30 minutes was a turned down version of the nearly sw7 tune they give you

And as you can tell I was worried about 32psi for literally 1 second on an he341 I am happy with the 28 psi I can hold. I'd just like to be able to peak and hold about 34 psi which is why I was wondering if the 351 was worth it
