Default looking at buying a cummins

Hi I am looking at buying a 04 Cummins with 163k miles. He is asking 15000 dollars for it. What are some red flags when I go look at it? What are the weak spots in these trucks? It has an edge programmer, aftermarket exaust, and an intake. Any input will be appreciated!

Welcome to the forum- I have recently purchased an 06 5.9 2500- you want to look for basic things first- how many owners and car fax to see history- is it 2wd or 4wd? 4wd defiantly check front u-joints (should be no play)- automatic or standard? Be sure to drive it and feel shift points- with the extras on there it sounds like the stock transmission should be fine- once bigger injectors and big tunes get made to the motors the transmissions won't hold up long - depends on how much hp they are making- for peace of mind take it to a dealer and have them look it over - they'll be honest! First diesel?

did you pull the trigger on it? Once you get a diesel you won't go back to a gasser!

Ya cant go wrong with a cummins. Cummins has lots of low-end grunt and It'll pull whatever ya want and get good fuel mileage doing it. You wont be sorry...
