Default Edge Programmer

I've got a 2006 5.9l dually. A buddy gave me a programmer which he thought was for a 2003 cummins. I plugged it in last night and it made a world of difference(really woke the truck up). The truck is stock except for exhaust and a transmision(auto). I'm ordering gauges this week; fuel psi, boost, egt. I was wondering if this programmer might mess something up on my truck since i think it was for a 2003 not a 2006. I'm not going to hook it back up until i get the gauges installed so i can keep an eye on a few of the vitals. the programmer says

2003 EZD1000C
S/N 40007765 Ver 3.0
Date of manuf.11/26/2003
I typed the first line into google and it brought me to the edge website. On the edge website it said that the programmer was easy to install, just plugs into two electrical connectors(which is absolutely true). Then it also claimed that it has three adjustable power levels with the use of a toggle switch( which im not sure im understanding that part theres only two inline connectors leading to a small wiring loom ending up at the edge module.
The programmer is working on this 06, i just want to make sure im not going to damage anything on the truck by using it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Uh, duh. Don't use it. 03-04 is what that tuners made for. You need something that's gonna work for 04.5-07. They changed the Cummins engine a little bit to quite it down, and new piston bowls, changed the injector spray pattern, valve seats, and a few other things. It's not smart running a tuner on your truck that wasn't made for it. Your going to end up dickering up something, that's gonna end up costing you an arm and a leg to fix. Not worth it. Go out, spend the money on a tuner made for your truck.
