Default Comprehensive Guide To 5.9L Cummins ?

Hey fellas, I'm in the market for an 04-07 5.9L cummins. I've been searching the web high and low for a solid guide to the motors, with particular attention to common problems/fixes and maintenance schedules. Is there a "Holy Bible of 5.9L" out there somewhere?

Thanks,
Mike

Not, that I know of. The biggest issue I run into with common rails is Injectors and the cross over tubes etching. But its an issues but its not a every truck issue, most reasons why an injector fails is because of a bad fuel filter, an ontop of that a crappy filtration system so investing into a good one will be worth while in the log run. Alot of people complain about the auto trannies because they dies early, but they only die early because people fail to change the fluid every 70K and adjust the bands.. For the early 04-04.5 engines cummins moved the piston rings up a little bit and have been know to fail early. 2005 Cummins have radiator issues, but if that happens invest into a quality aftermarket radiator. I think the B-Series Cummins is one of the best Light Duty Engines to buy, but they can have their issues, but every engine does thats why people modify their trucks or as I call it Re engineer.

I'm pretty focused on the 05-07.5 3500's. These are B-series right?

I'll be getting a manual, and I'll also be putting an FS2500 and beefing up the fuel filter system as well.

My aim is efficiency and longevity.

Thanks for the input!
