Default Front Crank Seal

I've got a leaking front crank seal. Not a lot happening yet, but its getting worse. I was going to have a local shop do the work, as I'm getting tired of working on it right now (replaced ball joints, tie rods, drag link, track bar bushings, steering stabilizer, and shocks). But, the local shop says the front cover has to come off making it a $450 job. So, I'm probably going to be doing it in the driveway. Has anybody done this with a pictorial and write-up? I've searched the forum, but with so many results it's hard to pin it down.

If I do have to pull the cover, is there a gasket I need to get to re-seal it up? Id like to put cummins parts back in as I've heard differing not so good stories of non cummins seals and issues. Where do ya'll suggest I get a cummins crank seal and front cover seal (if needed)? Thanks for any help you can provide!

I don't think you pull the front cover...the harmonic is all that's removed from what I remember. Dealer did mine under warranty, took them about 30 minutes.
