Default Strait pipe?

Ok guys I'm new to diesel bombers and I think I'm doing this right haha. So I was thinking about strait pipeing my 01 cummins and some1 told mr to go all the way to the cat. I was wondering if that's a good idea or not, I would really like the extra smoke but idk much about what that would do. Anything helps thanks

Take the muffler and cat out. IMO though, I'd go ahead and put a full 4" exhaust on it myself

1. my truck stock didnt have a cat on it?
2. i have 4" down pipe belled up to a 8" pipe and up to a 8" stack i am selling it if you want a stack its crome and nice, but any how 4" sounds the best....in my thoughts.... it will lower your egts, and sound great!
i would got all the way to a turbo though
