so i have a question. i just installed my edge juice with attitude cts chip with the touch screen monitor. i never have had pillar gauges so i thought itd be a good tging to be able to monitor my truck. the down fall i was looking on the chip and found my fuel pressure gauge so i put it on the main screen and it reads 8-9 psi when its ilding and drops down to lkike 6 psi ive read lots on this forum about how this is very low so im just kind of scared and dont know what to do check for new lift pump time ? just need some help guys thanks a lot

 

It's a very good idea to good idea to get a aftermarket lift pump. The factory style just don't supply the flow to keep a VP44 healthy. Personally, I think a Raptor 100 or FASS 95 is the minimum any VP44 truck should have.

 

so if i buy the raptor it will change the problem i am facing ? its new lift pump and everything to put it in ? and if i need to drive my truck for a while till i get it will anything major happen

 

The kits generally come with everything you need. I can't guarantee that nothing will happen, no one can. Failures can come to the best systems. I will say it is unlikely if you don't bag on the truck, and keep an eye on the fuel pressure.

You should find out if you have an intank pump or not. More pieces are required if you have an intank pump.

 

ok thanks for your help is there any chance the gauge could be wrong ? and what exactly happens when your lift pump fails ?

 

There is a possibility the gauge is incorrect. To confirm the pressure, you would install a manual gauge and hose to the cab.
The VP44 uses fuel for lubrication and cooling as well as fueling the engine. Without the ability to lubricate, and more importantly cool the injection pump, failures cause. Most common failures of a VP44 are electronic due to overheats.
