Default APPS Wiring

Hey guys my 24v wont rev up to the 3200 rev limiter. It will rev up to 2600 then cut out. I replaced the APPS sensor with a timbo one and it didnt fix the problem. Could the problem be that i extended the sensor wiring into the cab for a different application (ford conversion) and im thinking that the extension of 3 ft of wire makes the signal weak. Thanks ahead guys.

That's all they fuel to stock. Need a programmer, hot edge comp or quadzilla.

Does it do this under load, or no load. Regardless, it should rev much higher in either situation.

At an idle sitting there it will rev up to 2700 then fall on its face. While driving it only revs up to 2100. And driving there is intermediate dead pedal no response from the sensor. It's a brand new engine with a brand new vp44 and lift pump. When i go back home from school in a week thinking about cutting the wires i added into the cab soldering back the original wires to 6 pin plug and getting a manual pedal with a cable to pull it. (Pretty much putting it back to the stock dodge 24v setup for the apps) Do you guys think that will fix it? I checked voltage and it barely had over 5.02. Thanks Guys for the help

5.02V is fine, as it is a 5V sensor. Why were wires added into the cab? To run off the Ford pedal? The Cummins APPS has an idle validation, and off idle validation signal as well as position sensor. That could be part of the issue.

Yes, the wires were extended to run the sensor off the ford pedal. My AC compressor is in the position of where the apps is usually mounted forward of the intake elbow. Can you elaborate on the idle variation signal?

If you open the link, and zoom in on the top left it shows the sensor. After the pedal/sensor moves a certain amount, the ECM needs to see that it is no longer on the idle stop. If it doesn't, it will throw codes. I believe it is a redundant safety system. If the Ford pedal doesn't have this, it is most likely the problem. I can't see extended wires being the problem, not if they were soldered properly.
I'm not sure of the internals of the Ford pedal, and how it works. It may be possible to take the Cummins sensor and adapt it into the Fords pedal housing.
How did you determine which wire goes where into the Ford pedal? Get a schematic of it anywhere?

Hey Ra Williams i tried opening the link and it brought me to a page that said i do not have access to this page. I have the wires extended to the apps sensor which is mounted on the ford pedal. All the electronics are cummins parts, but the little rib on the ford pedal moves the inlet on the apps sensor giving me rpm acceleration.I dont have any wires from my ford pedal connected to the cummins apps sensor just the one 90 degrees mechanical stub that moves the apps sensor.
