Default 2002 24v edge comp problems

Hey everyone. New to this site and new to owning a dodge. Bought it with a edge comp chip pyro and boost guages and I think a low fuel pressure light (a littlte red light next to my boost guage) and ak&n filter. In the stock box. And bone stock exhaust.

Now I know I need to do exhaust but my problem is it seems like I don'tget anymore power with it anywear above setting one. From what I've read it should pour smoke and pull like crazy on five but it don't. Now I have read that if you don't puncher a wire somewear it will only do stage one. So how do I know if he did it right?

Look for a wire going from the Comp to the Injection Pump. If it is connected, it will be on a wire from the top of the pump to the rear of the pump.

CAUTION!!! If you connect the wire, it will fuel harder. It will also need a better lift pump of supply fuel to the injection pump. If a better lift pump isn't installed, the injection pump will fail.

There is a wire that runs to your injector pump that taps the power wire and allows it to add more fuel. I ran mine without this wire tapped and had a noticeable difference through the diffrent power levels.

Do you have an auto or manual trans? if its a stock auto (im guessing based on the other mods) you could just be slipping and not seeing anymore performance. My stock auto would not hold the Edge Comp on 1x3 and slipped even worse through the higher settings. Watch your tach when you get into the throttle if it jumps significantly compared to your speed after your torque converter has locked, your tranny is slipping. if thats the case, dont do it anymore. The stock auto wont hold very much additional power.

You also need to upgrade your lift pump asap and get a fuel pressure gauge. Most every post you will read on here about adding power mods will say this. The Injection pump is very "fragile" and needs to have a constant supply of fuel to survive.

ps, fill out your signature with details about your truck. that way anyone who reads your posts will be able to know what you are working with.Welcome to the site, you will find it very informative.

It just shows the importance of an upgraded lift pump when adding more power!

When I hook up my Edge Comp to my truck without the Smarty it seems like that when I put the pedal to the floor it takes a little over a second to take off like a jet. Once it takes off im fine I have smoke coming out the back like it should but theres just a big delay before it really goes and plus I can only go about 100 yards before my egts hit 1600 egts. So I don't use it alot is there a promblem with it or what. When I run my Smarty it just takes off like a jet as soon as the pedal it to the floors.

You're goin to need another clutch, especially if you're planning on more mods further down the road. The stocker won't hold for much longer, it'll start slipping soon, and if you're keeping it at a high setting, you'll disintegrate the whole thing.

So you should definitely start saving for a good clutch, Valair SouthBed and CenterForce, ect... But yeah, watch the right foot, it gets addicting very fast
