Default Need help Need to know if I should do a trade or not

Ok so I have a 94 ford ranger converted to a v8.

I have a guy who wants to trade me a 2001 dodge ram 2500 5.9 ho cummins 6spd

Truck has a 6 in lift with 35s
Was told that it has a manuel injection pump put on 100hp injectors a newer dodge turbo of a newer stock truck
New south bend clutch 6th gear synchro is out truck seems kinda hard to shift idk if it's just me because I never really drove a Manuel diesel
Truck does run good another thing is the guy told me the 4x4 shaft was out because it is bad for the fourwheel drive hooked up all the time with that much power
Has a single stack straight piped
I just don't know how reliable it will be and if it's worth it it gas 215000 miles on it if u could help me out on what I should do that would be greatly appreciated thanks

I'd be very suspicious but I'd still do it. if you have some cash I'd diagnose tranny right away. how many miles on the truck? gauges? lift pump? I don't know what he's talking about with the front drive shaft, sounds like he's bs'ing around the fact that something is probably fucked up. I'd make him put it in for you so you can try it out.

just noticed 215k miles

that's what my trucks got on it, as long as it's been maintained... look it over good.

Yea that's the thing idk about how well it was taken care of it's definitely a work truck but it has the three pillar gauges a and tranny temp gauge on the steering column I'm sure it's been ran pretty hard it was used for hauling hay I'm mean that's what there made for bu everything that's done to it don't make sense to me. It is set up for a big turbo and I think had one at one time. But the way the guy explained the injection pump to me was it's like putting a carb on a new car if that makes sense to you

so it's p-pumped? if it's not then it's a vp44 and whatever you're trying to repeat for us on here isn't really making sence.

I.know man didn't make sense to me one thing I know is you gotta manually shut the fuel off after your turn truck off by pulling out a red handle shaft on the dash I think this guy doesn't know much at all about the truck an I know I don't know really anything at all about it

O and it won't start unless u give it alitlle throttle I was told because of the pump

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

This is what the guy just txtd me an send i guess there pretty good parts but how much lifes left on this truck.

Pulled the drive shaft so it don't blow the transfree case since I don't need 4wd and it's a 01 p pump conversion 150hp injectors #0 fuel plate has a cam a fass 150gph fuel system southbend dual disc clutch and head studs supposedly but I didn't take it apart and look

I'd go for it... but be careful, you can very easily end up in over your head. Do some research into these trucks, specifically the p-pump conversions, and know what to ask, what to look for, etc... and most importantly, having spare cash incase something fails. That's where the "in over your head" can become a reality.

If it is a p-pump 24v, i'd trade in a second. I'm sure the ranger is fun, but once diesel gets in the blood, there's no turning back.

2001 6-speed P-Pumped ecsb
2001 2500 Extended cab short bed
215,000 6-speed manual
24v P-Pumped
FASS 150 system
150hp injectors
0-plate
4wd Lifted on 35in nittos on mickey thompsons
5th wheel
Southbend dual-disc
Single 7in stack
Newer turbo off of a newer 5.9

Some sort of cam when it was P-Pumped I do not know the spec
Fuel Boost Pyro gauges
Body is a little rough its a 50-footer has some rust spots and dents but looks good going down the road.
Interior is in good shape drivers seat is a little worn thats about all
Had a big turbo on at one point and made close to 600hp, I got it and it was hard to dd with out making clouds of smoke everywhere so we turned it back for mileage. I can get close to 20mpg some city some highway driving if you keep your foot out of it. Still makes great power and wouldn't hesitate a second towing something heavy. Its just time for something different.

I found the add he has only thing I'm worried about is the 4wd if it works I'm definitely gonna do it
